Quebec plan to tax the unvaccinated met with harsh reviews

The idea that you hear a lot in Quebec right now is that the vaccinated are paying for the unvaccinated, in the sense that they are paying a price and that the non-vaccinated are responsible for proportionally way more hospitalization.

The unvaxxed are paying a price for the smokers, the obese, the heroin addicts and others who also pose a threat to health of our society. Should those people be penalized as well? Why should they be given a pass? As well, should the vaxxed, who presently are 50% of the Covid patients in the hospitals, be penalized for taking up beds? After all, they too are putting a burden on the hospitals. It is completely ludicrous.
