Victims of Sri Lanka Attacks: Who They Were
As Sri Lankans began mass burials on a national day of mourning on Tuesday, the true toll of Sunday's attacks started to come into focus.
Family members, government officials and news reports have offered the first glimpses of the people who lost their lives, including mothers, fathers, workers, honeymooners and children. The number of dead was at least 321 on Tuesday, the vast majority Sri Lankans.
Officials have confirmed that citizens from at
least a dozen countries, including at least four people from the United States,
were killed in the attacks. Some of their names have begun to emerge in the
international news media. We will update this article as we learn more about
the people who died.
