Tough-Minded Realism Is Needed In the West's Fight Against Islam

We know that the sensational travesty of 9/11 was an act of war, not a prelude to peace. We know that even though the enemy is not one country nor even an alliance of countries, as in our previous wars, that the enemy is quite real. We are in the midst of a burgeoning catastrophe of violence originating in the Islamic world, and must continue to do all we can to suppress it.
