Taxpayers Federation releases pension and severance figures for 2019 federal election

MP's who did not run for re-election or were defeated on election night will collect a projected $104 million in pensions over their lifetimes, $5.8 million in severance payments. Seven former MP's will gather more than $100,000-plus a year in pension income including outgoing Liberal cabinet minister Ralph Goodale ($176,000) and former Conservative cabinet minister Rob Nicholson ($158,000). In terms of lifetime estimated benefits to age 90, 12 MP's are projected to collect more than $3 million each.
