SAMPLE LETTER:

Dear (Name of your MP)

I take exception to C13 in several ways and wish you to vote against it.

Without going line by line, the overall intent of the bill is to increase French in English areas outside of Quebec, and decrease English in Quebec. This is hardly equitable or inexpensive, as seen over the first fifty plus years with the current Official Languages Act.

There has been NO unbiased review of current Acts or Regulations to see what is working and who for, whether it is even needed and certainly there has been no costing, financially or to human capital. In view of our mounting debt, do Canadians think that this should be given priority?

The Canadian Rights and Freedoms Act does not list Language as a right, although the United Nations does, can this be clarified?

PLEASE VOTE NO TO C13.

Yours sincerely,

Name and Address
