On World Hijab Day, remember those who refuse to wear it, too by Barbara Kay

Although many Muslim women consider the hijab nothing more than an outward expression of female modesty, for many others it is a political statement, sometimes signifying anti-Western sentiment or support for political Islam. Many women choose to wear it; many others are forced to. Personally, I have no wish to 'experience' the hijab any more than I wish to 'experience' a crucifix around my neck.
