David Perry and the incredible heroism of ordinary people
A suspected terrorist tried to blow up innocent people in Liverpool yesterday. Thankfully, in the end, only his life was lost. But it was a chilling reminder that the kind of nihilistic terror that has haunted Britain's streets for years now hasn't gone away. More than ever we need to confront the barbarism that lurks in our midst. And no longer can we put up with the moral cowardice of politicians, who seem incapable of doing anything other than summoning up a few calming words before deftly changing the subject.
