Consider! The case of free speech warrior Daniel Bordman. The young comedian-journalist, Daniel Bordman, finds himself in a pickle and on the wrong side of Erin O'Toole's CPC leadership campaign. It appears that this free speech warrior is being taken to task for criticizing the candidate's connections as they relate to those of his campaign manager. This manager is a respected member of Canada's financial sector and is on record as being a proponent of Sharia financial instruments within the Canadian domain. Problem is, Mr. Bordman has also drawn attention to his purported connections with Islamic groups mired in their own allegations of terrorist activities. Among these organizations is Islamic Relief Worldwide; a group that has been designated as a terrorist organization by both Israel and the UAE. Mr. Bordman is being sued for $2.5 million but lacks the financial wherewithal to defend his speech in a court of law. Seen in this light, such legal suits present themselves as "lawfare" capable of chilling speech critical of those with deep pockets. If you believe such legal maneuvers effect your free speech rights as much as those of Mr. Bordman, perhaps you'd like to help him fight back on your behalf.
