The Merger of ISIS and al-Qaeda Could Cripple the Civilized World

“I think Britain, Germany and France will witness significant attacks in their territories by the Islamic State. Al-Baghdadi [the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, otherwise known as ISIS] may reconcile with al-Zawhiri [the leader of the al-Qaeda central organization] to fight the crusader enemy. The attacks by the United States and her allies will unite the two groups,” said Hisham al-Hashimi, an Iraqi researcher who just finished writing a book about ISIS based on his unique access to the organization’s documents and years of research and advising Iraqi security forces.

The Danger of Islamist Terrorists in Libya

Conflict rages in Benghazi, Libya’s second largest city, between government forces and terrorists. The city has undergone great violence, assassinations, bombings, and kidnapping. In the fighting, the terrorists destroyed part of Benghazi University. They bombed the area around Benghazi’s airport, killing 40 soldiers. The leader of the Ansar branch in Benghazi terrorists, Mohammed al-Zahawi, has made the demands of the group clear. The group, Ansar al-Sharia (Partisans of Islamic Law), will not disarm until a state based on sharia is created. It started in Benghazi and, in the context of political chaos, built communal ties with groups in other areas, and changed its name, claiming to be a national movement.

MESA and IIIT: Islamists Infiltrating Academia

The true nature of IIIT, a Virginia-based think tank, was revealed during the 2007 U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation terrorism-financing trial, which unearthed a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood memorandum naming IIIT as one of the likeminded organizations in the U.S dedicated to a “grand jihad” aimed at “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within” so that “God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.” Middle East studies professors have long shared the podium with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), another Islamist outfit linked by the United States government to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Canada as good, as tender and as ferocious as the best of her soldiers after death of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo

From the people who attended to Cirillo as he lay dying at the National War Memorial last Wednesday to the Hamiltonians who lined the route of the funeral parade to the political leaders who came quiet and stricken to Christ’s Church Cathedral, Canada was for these few days a nation as good, as tender and as ferocious as the best of her soldiers.

They may also know the truth of what the prime minister said, that “the only values really worth living for are those worth dying for.”

Special Report from Point de Bascule

Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed by a jihadist on Parliament Hill on October 22, 2014. Shortly after, Ottawa Police Chief Bordeleau sent a message of support to Muslim organizations that have transferred money to Hamas fund collector in the past. The same day, a terrorist praised by Hamas rammed his car into a crowd of commuters in Jerusalem, killing a three-month old infant and injuring seven others.

Ottawa Police Chief Bordeleau more worried about fictitious “backlash” against Muslim community than by promotion and funding of jihad coming from the Islamic organizations with which he is “building bridges”

On October 22, 2014, shortly after Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed by a jihadist on Parliament Hill, Ottawa Police Chief Bordeleau sent a message to Muslim leaders in the city to reassure them and invite them to contact the Ottawa Police Service if they fear “backlash.”

Sikander Hashmi, the Imam of the Kanata Muslim Association, acknowledged receiving the message from the Ottawa Police Chief and reproduced it on Twitter (also Archive.Today).

JihadWatcharchived Hashmi’s Twitter message and added the following comments:

The politically correct Ottawa Police Chief seems to have imbibed the lesson well: after every jihad attack, Muslims are the victims, and need special reassurances. Of course, there should be no backlash” against any innocent people and almost certainly won’t be, but this endless pandering is grotesque. Who is reassuring non-Muslims about keeping them safe from jihad attacks? Who is calling upon Muslim leaders in Canada or anywhere else to back up their condemnations of jihad terror with real action against it, including programs to teach young Muslims to reject that understanding of Islam?

You Can’t Reform Islam Without Reforming Muslims

Islam is not an idea. It is a tribe. Talking about reforming the words of Islam is an abstraction. Islam did not begin with a book. It began with clan and sword. Even in the modern skyscraper cities of the West, it remains a religion of the clan and the sword.

The left has misread Islamic terrorism as a response to oppression when it is actually a power base. It is not the poor and downtrodden who are most attracted to the Jihad. Instead it is the upper classes. Bin Laden wasn’t a pauper and neither are the Saudis or Qataris. Islamic terrorism isn’t a game for the poor. It becomes the thing to do when you’re rich enough to envy the neighbors. It’s a tribal war.

To reform Islam, we can’t just look at what is wrong with the Koran or the Hadiths. We have to ask why these tribal calls for violence and genocide, for oppression and enslavement, appealed to Muslims then and why they continue to appeal to Muslims today.

The Lone-Wolf Canard

Even more skewed than its invocation in the terrorism context is the use of “lone wolf” to explain how Muslims become “radicalized” — and, more specifically, its use to peddle the trendy nonsense that because he has acted alone, the Muslim in question must have “self-radicalized.”

No one self-radicalizes. Terrorists are radicalized by a scripturally based doctrine. They terrorize because the doctrine instructs them to do so. In sura 8:12, for example, Allah instructs Muslims that he will use them to “instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers” by having them “smite ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them.”
