Putin vows to fight terrorists until their “total destruction”; Obama spokesperson offers help against “folks who want to cause mischief”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has vowed to fight terrorists until their “total destruction,” following the two suicide bombings in the southern city of Volgograd on Sunday and Monday that left 34 people dead. In his annual New Year’s address, Putin said that at the country’s most trying times, Russia has always been united and consolidated.

CAR conflict: Unicef says children ‘beheaded’ in Bangui

At least two children have been been beheaded in the Central African Republic’s capital as violence sinks to a “vicious new low”, the UN has said. The CAR is ruled by Muslim ex-rebel leader Michel Djotodia, who seized power in March forcing then-President Francois Bozize, who came from the majority Christian population, to flee into exile.

Yes, Al-Qaeda ‘Infiltrated’ Libya

The New York Times series gives the impression that some in the West have an exaggerated view of Al-Qaeda and conflate it with other groups that do not pose serious threats. The real misconception is that one jihadist can be considered separate from another jihadist. The argument about what constitutes “Al-Qaeda” is, to a degree, a distraction. The bottom line is that Khattala, Al-Qaeda, Ansar al-Sharia and every other Islamist is devoted to implementing Sharia. They are all jihadists. They are all motivated by the same doctrine and they all have the same goals.

Terror Wave in Russia

There have now been three major jihad terror attacks in Russia in four days. The attacks are a grim reminder of how vulnerable crowded public places are worldwide to jihad mass murder — and an indication of what the United States could look like sooner or later. They were warned. We have been warned as well. But we aren’t paying attention to those warnings. To heed them would be “Islamophobic.”

France: The Looming Battle over Muslim Integration

“Immigration used to go hand-in-hand with integration into French culture. That was the rule of the game. Many of the new arrivals no longer want to play by that rule. If the immigrants are in the majority in their neighborhoods, how can we integrate them? … Many Muslims in Europe are re-Islamizing themselves. … The left does not want to accept that there is a clash of civilizations. “The report has opened yet another chapter in the long-running debate over multiculturalism in France, which has the largest Muslim population in Western Europe.

The Islamization of Britain in 2013

In May, new census data published by the British government showed that Islam is set to become the dominant religion in Britain within the next generation. Opinion surveys consistently show that voters in Britain view Islam and the question of Muslim immigration as a top-ranked public concern. The British public, it seems, is increasingly worried about the establishment of a parallel Muslim society there. But government efforts to push back against the Islamization of Britain have been halting and half-hearted.

What follows is a chronological review of some of the main stories involving the rise of Islam in Britain during 2013.
